Salud sin Daño /Health Care Without Harm (HCWH) is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) that works to transform health care worldwide so that it reduces its environmental footprint, becomes a community anchor for sustainability, and a leader in the global movement for environmental health and justice. With offices on three continents and partners around the world, Salud sin Daño / HCWH is leveraging the health sector’s expertise, purchasing power, political clout, workforce development, and moral authority to create the conditions for healthy people, communities, and the environment.
Since 2009, Salud sin Daño /HCWH has expanded its work in Latin America through an overall strategy for the health care sector and the implementation of several projects, which include collaboration with national and subnational ministries of Health in different countries, and partnership with key stakeholders (WHO, PAHO and other organizations). In addition to our regional team, Salud sin Daño /HCWH works closely with a strategic partner in Brazil (Projeto Hospitais Saudáveis) who represents the interests and leads the development and implementation of HCWH-related work in the country.
Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH), a Health Care Without Harm initiative, is an international network of hospitals, health care facilities, health systems, and health organizations dedicated to reducing their environmental footprint and promoting public and environmental health. GGHH has 1,300 members in 65 countries who represent the interests of over 36,000 hospitals and health centers. Our members are using innovation, ingenuity, and investment to transform the health sector and foster a healthy future for people and the planet.
In Latin America, GGHH has more than 800 institutional members in 13 countries, who represent the interests of more than 2,300 public and private hospitals and health systems across the region.
Salud sin Daño / Health Care Without Harm is seeking to add to its regional team in Latin America a dynamic and creative person, with strong skills in managing and managing interpersonal and institutional relationships, to lead work on climate change in the region and play a leading role in developing the HCWH strategy, working closely with the regional and international team.
One of the main functions is to design a strategy and develop programs to broaden and strengthen the commitment of the Latin American health sector to face the climate crisis, in conjunction with the global strategy of Salud sin Daño /HCWH to align health organizations with the objectives of the Paris Agreement and mobilize the sector towards more ambitious climate action.
The work includes, among other things, expanding and strengthening the participation of health systems in the programs developed by the organization with the aim of reducing its climate footprint. In turn, it will be responsible for developing strategies so that national and sub-national governments include health as one of the fundamental axis of climate policies that they carry out, in addition to promoting the inclusion of climate action in health policies.

To lead Salud sin Daño / Health Care Without Harm’s climate change strategy in Latin America, managing the implementation of specific programs and interacting with key players to strengthen work in the region.
