We are the leader in reality capture for the construction industry and looking for a Cloud Engineer to support our Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) platform. Working primarily with our Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure, the successful candidate will work as part of an existing infrastructure team to support the creation and maintenance of development, staging and production environments with the goal of achieving the high availability, fault-tolerance and scalability required to support our customers around the globe.
The candidate will also be responsible for DevOps tasks including implementing continuous integration and deployment of code to the cloud hosted environments to accelerate our software development pipeline. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, this is a permanent (non-contract) full time position operating out of our office in downtown Victoria, British Columbia. Remote placement will be considered for an exceptional candidate.
What You Will Do: Design, architect, deploy and maintain cloud solutions using AWS infrastructure Advise technical leadership and software engineering teams as they migrate from on-premise to cloud infrastructure Partner with multi-disciplinary teams to understand requirements and articulate solutions on various topics such as cloud migrations, enterprise implementation, private and hybrid clouds Maintain and improve existing infrastructure by implementing autoscaling, new services and other optimizations Help identify opportunities for increased automation and implement solutions accordingly Optimize cloud workloads for cost, scalability, availability, governance, and compliance Guide and/or provide hands-on support to administer production, staging, and deployment environments Manage full application stacks from the OS through custom applications using Amazon cloud-based computing environments Write CloudFormation scripts to create infrastructure Use automation tools for provisioning, configuration and deployment Help to drive DevOps best practices across the software engineering team Assist in protecting the enterprise’s security posture What You’ll Need Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field 2 yrs. of experience in software engineering or cloud infrastructure engineering Demonstrated expertise with most AWS Services – IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ELB Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CID) tools like Jenkins, Ansible/Chef Experience with Linux and Windows Server system administration Working knowledge of scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell, Python, Bash and Node General familiarity of enterprise-level systems design, networking, software, hardware and integration.
