Description: Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Lead Job Code: CHQ20211703-58200 Job Location: Melbourne, FL or Remote Job Description: L3Harris’ Corporate Headquarters located in Melbourne, FL is seeking an Environmental Sustainability Lead to join our Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Team.
This role will work within a cross-functional team to develop and implement programs, policies and initiatives to drive progress towards L3Harris’ long-term environmental sustainability goals as well as support environmental, social and governance (ESG) public disclosure responses. This individual will have a thorough understanding of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and protocols, water reduction strategies, various ESG public disclosure methodologies, have a strong background in data analytics, development of collaborative web-based sharing platforms, environmental sustainability software management systems and the ability to learn and adapt quickly. Job Duties: Develop and implement programs, policies and initiatives to drive progress towards L3Harris’ long-term environmental sustainability goals around GHG emissions, water use and solid waste diversion from landfill.
Develop a collaboration platform and/or process that tracks annual ESG public disclosures, customer surveys and responses in order to streamline workload and have a central repository for all historical information. This can include leveraging an environmental management system software. Actively participate on L3Harris ESG Working Group to continue to drive progress towards L3Harris’ ESG strategy.
Support public disclosure submissions such as CDP and S&P Global CSA on an annual basis; track and monitor methodology changes over time. Lead L3Harris’ GHG emissions and water inventory third party verifications and the Science Based Target Initiative (SBTi) certification. Support the expansion of L3Harris Scope 3 GHG disclosures and programs through internal and external partnerships.
Work with cross-function members of the CHQ EHS team to fully integrate environmental sustainability into L3Harris audit program. Manage L3Harris’ Green teams and work to expand participation across the enterprise by creating resources and tools that will help support members drive progress. Serve as a resource to Real Estate, Facilities and other internal functions for identifying and developing energy-efficient technologies, credits and reduction projects Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (BA / BS) in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or related degree and Minimum of 9 years of experience in environmental sustainability, energy management or a related field Preferred Qualifications: MBA or Graduate degree (BA / BS) in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) or related degree Strong communication skills and the ability to form partnerships and influence key stakeholders Experience and / or knowledge with energy markets, energy and utility regulation, renewable energy costs / performance and / or renewable energy credit (REC) tracking system Knowledge of facilities / maintenance environment Experience using MS Excel and PowerPoint Project management experience and leading cross-functional teams Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met Willingness to adapt to a fast-paced environment and take on new responsibilities as the environmental sustainability and ESG markets evolve.
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $78,000 – $144,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
