Contract: Long Term Start date: 31 Nov 2020 to 31 July 2021 (flexible) Fixed term position Hot summers, mild winters Close to stunning beaches Role We are looking for a General Practitioner (Family Medicine physician) for a fixed term position for around 6 months. The role has 8 sessions per week with no on-call. We are looking for a team player with exceptional communication skills.

As we are a rural practice in a remote location you must be able to adapt to limited resources. The patient base is mainly from the rural and low-income community. Practice We are a very supportive and tight team with highly skilled staff that go above and beyond to help each other and patients.

We believe in providing care not only for our enrolled patients but also in supporting other health providers with services in the community. Location Opotiki is a small town in the eastern Bay of Plenty in the North Island and one of the first places settled by Maori. In summer, the town fills up with holiday makers who come to enjoy the surf beaches, fishing and river activities.

Opotiki’s climate is equal to the best in New Zealand as it is sheltered from the cold southerlies that are experienced in many other places. This town is nestled along the east coast and is only a couple hour’s drive away from New Zealand’s top tourist destinations such as Tauranga and Rotorua .
