Reporting to the Product Development and Service Delivery Director, thisrole (internally titled: Head of Service Development) is responsible fordeveloping a successful and profitable portfolio of services and products tosupport UK Higher Education institutions and educators to deliver an excellentlearning experience and to help learners access and progress through highereducation successfully. You will lead a small team to identify, design andimprove new and existing services aligned to the changing needs of ourcustomers and to drive the execution of all product lifecycle processes, includingmarket research, build-measure-learn and early adopter engagement. Workingclosely with our sales, marketing and customer insights colleagues, this teamis also responsible for developing go-to-market plans for each serviceincluding defining value proposition, customer segmentation, messaging andcompetitive advantage.
Your core responsibilities are detailed below. · Lead a high performing, results-focused team with theskills and capabilities to drive revenue growth in our services portfolio. · Working in partnership with sales colleagues, seek outshort- and long-term commercial opportunities that will help to accelerate thegrowth of our business.
· Share customer insights and represent wider markettrends, challenges and opportunities to inform go-to-market strategiesincluding value proposition, messaging, target market segmentation, pricing andchannel strategy. · Identify customer/learner problems-to-be-solved andopportunity size, scope and define possible solutions, articulate and test product-solution/marketfit, test and agree pricing and business models, and assess impact in marketand on learning. · Embed lean product innovation principles intobusiness-as-usual processes including value-to-customer definition, appropriateinvestment management, continuous improvement and build-measure-test principle.
· Complete detailed competitor analysis to determinecompetitive advantages, to position our services and to inform continuousimprovement to maximise revenue growth and learning impact. · Lead market development activity for new services,shaping strategies and best practice for customer engagement initiatives tobuild an early adopter community and support the sharing of best practice implementationand usage. You’ll bring exceptionalcommunication, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills, along withexperience of working directly with customers, building relationships anddeveloping communities both in person and online. You will be responsible for overseeing all elements of the productdevelopment lifecycle and guiding cross-functional teams to create successfuland profitable services. We are looking for a confident and able networker withan ability to form trusted relationships across a diverse group of stakeholdersand influence / lead at all levels, often in virtual teams.
