The National Site Security Manager plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of protective security services and advice to the GCSB and NZSIS, as well as other government agency staff across New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) sites. You will be responsible for the continuous improvement of the site security services framework and practices within the NZIC, and coordinating the delivery of site security services nationwide, working with stakeholders to ensure that our people, information and assets are protected. Part of this involves managing our Protective Security Unit, ensuring they are prepared and supported to respond to security incidents and/or emergency situations that may arise across our sites.
Strong leadership is vital in this role, our security team is based across two locations working both day and rostered shifts so you will be adept at managing remotely and ensuring that your team feel supported even when you’re not on site. As you will be liaising with staff across the NZIC we expect you to have excellent relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility quickly across a diverse range of stakeholders. You will have experience in current hazard analysis and risk management techniques and operational experience in responding to security incidents and/or emergency situations.

Alternatively you must hold NZ Permanent Residence or hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and have been a citizen of UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years.
You must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance. Ordinarily to obtain this level of clearance candidates must have a 15 year checkable background in countries where meaningful and reliable checks can be undertaken. Where requisite checks are unable to be made, the candidate application may not be able to be progressed.
