This position can be based at our Syracuse, NY or Highland, Illinois facility. Relocation assistance will be provided.
Position Overview: This key role is responsible to support the financial activities at 14 manufacturing locations across the North American region and provides opportunity to drive short-term actions to achieve current results while supporting the deployment of progressive strategies which result in a sustainable competitive advantage and strong financial return on investment. This individual is responsible for business process improvements within the manufacturing environment, creating and implementing procedures to improve the internal control environment, provide increased transparency of financial results, and support delivery of working capital commitments. In this function you will: Implement best practices as it relates to operations accounting for the organization’s manufacturing locations Analyze historic performance to understand root-cause of issues and support improvement efforts going-forward; proactively perform forward-looking analysis and identify areas of improvement Provide guidance to stakeholders on all finance-related matters and ensures compliance with reporting guidelines and standards Ownership of account reconciliation process to maintain integrity of plant general ledger and its supporting sub-systems.
Assess adequacy of reserves and overall financial reporting. Provide support for the Balance Sheet Review process Establish, monitor and maintain a system of internal controls that safeguards company asset and provides for integrity and propriety of financial transactions and activities. Compliance with corporate policy, including SOX Prepare and evaluate capital appropriation requests.
Monitor and report purchase commitments and spending for all capital programs. Conduct follow-up audits to ensure compliance for all significant capital investments Oversees and reports on the deployment of cost saving and other programs to provide operating economies and improve profitability. Monitors opportunities to support continuously improving Plant Productivity, Gross Utilization, Flex Productivity, etc Ensure adequate cost accounting processes are in place, including standard cost updates, physical inventory verification, periodic cycle counts, etc.
Support Lean activities to ensure financial impact accurately recorded Support the development and execution of headcount activities, ensure proper alignment of headcount to the financials Lead and/or execute special projects on an ad-hoc basis When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum 7 years’ work experience in finance/accounting roles. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Experience in a manufacturing environment. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. Preferred qualifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred.
Knowledge of US GAAP Working knowledge of financial systems (SAP, Hyperion/HFM, Encore) Position Criteria: Self-Starter with the ability to develop strategic initiatives and drive results Must be a proactive communicator to all levels of management Demonstrated ability to influence broad organization directions and the attainment of objectives Strong interpersonal and leadership skill set that is effective at all levels of the organization Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and relationships in a global organization Effectively leverages functional and cross-functional resources to solve problems, improve processes and meet objectives.
