Location: Home based office, in South of Germany. Reporting to the Displays Business Division Manager based in Vicenza – Italy GDS is searching for an experienced B2B – Sales Development Manager to lead business development activities for high end displays based on TFT, LED and e-paper technology. The general goal would be to establish long-term relationships with key people in large organizations (big end-customers).
This individual has to be able to establish relationships and to be able to understand the needs of marketing, IT, service and purchase managers of the customers. The objective of the role is to win profitable new business across DACH, by aligning customer needs with display solutions, mainly for outdoor and harsh-environment applications. The main responsibilities of the position are: Identify and develop new leads, customers and opportunities.
Convince customers of the benefits of GDS capabilities and technologies. Work closely with the internal organisation to realise/deliver customer solutions. Provide accurate sales forecasts and reports Gather market intelligence on trends, customer expectations, and competitive activity.
Correct usage of internal report system (recording leads, visit reports, communication etc.) Frequent travel to Customers to provide presentations on company products. Encourage the development of existing customers into more strategic accounts.
Establish key/strategic customer and third party alliances. Desired Skills and Experience The role ideally fits a motivated and talented individual with knowledge and passion for displays/electronics/IT technology with proven experience in a B2B customer focused role, with capability to deal at a high level with customers and ability to develop and be comfortable developing business. Accuracy and attention to detail is critical combined with a proven ability to communicate effectively across functional and international teams.
Understanding of B2B displays industry/markets. Success in selling technical/technology solutions (as opposed to standard products) Ability to develop and be comfortable developing longer term business (as opposed to ‘spot’/distribution business) Ability to work in a global team and achieve results through a remote operational team. Previous experience in selling displays B2B in any of the following markets or customers is preferable: Rail/Bus/Airport Transportation, Advertising, Retail, Quick Service Restaurants.
Commercial acumen Complete flexibility to travel across DACH and Italy. Proven sales skills and techniques Ability to hear customers, articulate their needs and turn them into opportunities. Ability to influence people inside the organisation as well as outside.
