THE POSITION Biostatistics and Data Sciences (BDS) is a global organization with more than 400 employees within the Human Pharma Business Unit. Working in close collaboration with other functions at Boehringer Ingelheim (BI) and external vendors we combine methodological and technical data science skills with business and scientific expertise to drive smart, timely and confident decision making at every stage of drug development, approval and access.
On our journey to transform BDS into a modern data science organization in clinical development capable to thrive in a world of rapid and continuous change, we will change our working model towards an operating model with emphasis on cross-functional and self-organized teams creating customer-validated value. As a (Senior) Clinical Data Engineer you are the key contact partner in cultivating the “power of data” by means of data collection/curation, data review, delivery and data standardization. You will be an active member of a BDS development team and/or of a community of practice like for data standardization or structure.
This position can be filled in Ingelheim or Biberach (Discover our site Biberach: ) Tasks & responsibilities You translate the science out of e.g. Clinical Trial Protocols into technical specifications and you collect, ingest, structure, curate and standardize all kinds of Clinical Trial related data from internal and external sources.
In your new role you also ensure Data Quality and Integrity by implementing plausibility checks and anomaly detection in data collection systems. With your knowledge about international regulations and guidelines and various international guidelines on clinical development, data standardization and processes you carry out a broad range of tasks around data collection, review and delivery. As Senior Clinical Data Engineer You lead and facilitate discussions regarding data collection, review and delivery and you define processes, including testing and training.
You are responsible for company data standards. Requirements Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree (e.g.
MBA, MSc) in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or related field with several years professional experience. Or high-qualified/multifaceted professional qualifications with relevant professional experience Understanding of dependencies among interfaces Experience in working in/with agile teams and/or as a product owner is a plus Ability to independent decision making, problem solving and ownership attitude Knowledge in and experience with the use of Data Collection Tools (EDC systems), Data Review Tools, and/or Data Standardization methods and requirements Excellent communication and fluency in English in speaking and writing Additional requirements for a Senior Position Long term working experience in clinical development EFFECTS OF COVID-19 We will continue to hire talented people and we look forward to receiving your applications.
