Position Requirements: You will secure and retain Clinical (Phase I-IV) business opportunities through professional, consultative and proactive sales activities directed at decision-makers and decision influencers at existing and new prospective clients. You will position and secure QPS as a primary or preferred provider. You will liaise between the sponsor and QPS on all business development activities and requirements.
This position can be home based and will have responsibility for clients in the United Kingdom and Scandinavia and/or assigned key-accounts. You will obtain firm project/task commitments that will meet or exceed sales targets that will be established annually by Management. Description: Prospect, generate and develop new leads/business opportunities; Generate Request for Proposals/Information (RFP/Is) from new/existing clients in QPS’ current and future business segments with a focus on Clinical (Phase I-IV) Services; Prospect, generate and develop new leads/business opportunities for other QPS’ services in combination with Clinical (Phase I-IV) leads/business such as Clinical Research Services (Data Management, Biostatistics, Medical Writing, Pharmacovigilance, Monitoring), Pre- Clinical Services (Neuropharmacology Services, Toxicology and DMPK) and Bioanalytical services; Drive sales to closure working in conjunction with Operations and other BD staff; Network and Relationship-build at Senior/Decision-maker level across key accounts; Work with Operations and Internal BD to direct and coordinate client visits to QPS’ facilities, including pre-visit strategy, meetings and agenda; Develop and maintain client relationships and profiles; Represent QPS at local, national and international meetings pertinent to Business Development; Responsible for Account Planning & Execution and Forecasting; Share knowledge and skills with BD team.
Education and Experience: · Bachelors or Master degree in science or business, or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job; · Extensive experience in a CRO or pharmaceutical/biotech sales or operations, in particular Early Phase Clinical sales experience; Specific knowledge/contacts within the Global Pharma/Biotech Innovator and a strong knowledge of Clinical Development are ideal. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: You should have the ability to manage and fully integrate with Operations, Finance, Customer Relations and Marketing, and follow-up with sponsors and prospective clients to expand relationships and business opportunities. You should have the ability to cold call, identify and develop sales leads, professionally present capabilities, manage the sales process through close and handle all aspects of contract negotiations.
You should possess computer skills inclusive of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. A good command of English, spoken and written is desired. Other European languages are preferred.
Scientific, and/or sales or marketing background with a concentration in pharmaceutical/biotech services area is needed. Mature, motivated, and proactive team-player is a must.
