We’re looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company. Ensures in-country implementation of Company Operated programs as outlined by HQ based technical teams and Rio based regulatory teams. Provide input and local expertise to the geoscience technical operations teams (HQ & Rio regarding) to facilitate efficient operational execution, planning, and reporting.
Participate as Alternate Technical Committee Representative in Operated and Non Operated Co-venture meetings. Assess and communicate key technical issues. Technical representation of Company to regulatory authorities (ie.
ANP) and preparation of key regulatory documents. Potential to assist in development of R&D projects with local entities in Brazil. Utilize previous Brazil Deepwater experience to assist in New Opportunity Evaluations and Captures.
Coordinate in country geologic studies (Core and rock analysis, ANP/BDEP data rooms, etc.) and assist HQ based team in competitor analysis. Experience: 15 years with significant exposure to Brazilian Deep Water drilling operations, permitting, and new opportunity captures.
Critical Language Skills: Fluency in English and Portuguese Key Technical Skills: Subsurface evaluation of Brazilian oil plays and competitor analysis. Ability to rapidly assess and communicate the quality of technical proposals. Familiarity with Brazilian regulatory processes (Permitting & license management).
Basic proficiency in operations geology, well planning, studies/project planning and execution. Must demonstrate ability to collaborate constructively with remote teams. Other Skills: Good interpersonal communication skills & ability to work with remote teams.
Effective communications skills with government agencies (ANP, IBAMA, etc). Previous experience with Brazilian Operators and IOC’s in the exploration and development / production phase strongly desired.
