Internship Practical programming Internship assignment description For the past months (June 2020 until September 2020) new knowledge was generated and subsequently modifying and improving our small-scale test setup that we use for tests on materials. The developed systems and modules to measure the amount of oil, gas and ash formed, improve the quality of the oil and develop a basic mathematical model of the pyrolysis reaction. Now this system was setup by academia and time to translate this into a practical test setup.
As intern in practical programming your task is to integrate these separate systems or modules into 1 system. These separate systems all have sensors or other data gathering equipment which are all collected separately and by hand. The goal is to get one system that logs everything automatically and gets usable data out which can be used to make a basic mass- and energy balance.
This balance is being used to present to customers the feasibility of pyrolyzing their waste streams. It is designed for tackling waste, where recycling is not feasible and where waste disposal is an issue. Thanks to its mobile nature, WER allows to avoid transport costs, electricity cost, gas boiler cost and gas for a boiler. Position requirements For the position we are looking for the following background: Knowledge about programming Beckhoff PLC (can be learned on the job) Basic engineering knowledge such as units used for calculating mass and energy balance Basic matlab knowledge (can be learned on the job) Basic knowledge of the English language is a must (practical, better being able to communicate than to write a book) Good to have For the practical execution of the work and filling in with the team we have additional wishes that can give you a higher probability of being selected. Knowledge about polymers and pyrolysis is a plus Experience with sensors Reimbursement Reimbursement is € 400 per month (excluding expenses) depending on candidate’s qualifications.
