Waste to Chemicals & Energy internship/graduation ; Internship assignment description In your position as intern will you work at our demonstration location in Moerdijk (operation & office) and in our office in Leiderdorp, the Netherlands. You will work with an international team of entrepreneurs, engineers and other technology providers for operating, improving & modelling in line distillation and testing the designed in line distillation in real life. The WER pyrolysis technology turns plastics and waste into gas, oil and char included the resulting pollutants that are captured in the waste material.
The raw gases leave the reactor around 500 ⁰C and take some of the char, light to heavy fractions, pollutants, CO, CO 2 and steam. The heaviest fractions should be returned to the reactor for further cracking and the remaining fractions to be distilled in line with the system without clogging. Each flow will be different based on different material flows in, this increases the challenge of the design The assignment is to design and model a setup directly situated on top of the reactor.
If feasible we implement it and it is possible to test a small setup on our laboratory unit. You will select the best separation ( distillation) technique and make a model of the mass transfer and material flow, basically in line distillation.
